Thanks to a grant from the Council of Independent Colleges, Regis has graduated 7 faculty, 2 deans, and 1 director of the center for careers and internships from the Association of College and University Educators’ (ACUE) course in Effective Teaching Practices with a concentration in Career Guidance and Readiness.
These individuals completed a 25-module course where they learned about and implemented effective teaching practices on topics such as establishing productive learning environments, engaging learners, promoting higher order thinking, assessing learning, designing courses, and career guidance and readiness.
Completing this course took a lot of effort and time for these individuals on top of their already busy teaching and work load. Each week they were responsible for engaging with the content, sharing their thoughts and ideas with others on the discussion forums, and picking something they learned from the module, trying it in their class, and writing a reflection on it. While it was a lot of work they all have told me that the course was worthwhile and that they learned a lot.
Here is the list of our graduates. Congratulate them on their hard work if you see them and make note that these individuals have a lot of knowledge to share when it comes to effective college teaching if you are ever in need of some guidance.
