At the end of January I attended the Across the Boundaries Conference, which was a 2-day event that brought together educators, entrepreneurs, education leaders, innovators, education companies and technology innovators from New England and beyond to drive innovation and transform learning. I met some amazing people, learned a ton, and was exposed to many innovative educational technology products. I wanted to share a couple of the standout products with all of you in hopes that you can all get a glimmer of what the future of education may be like.
InSimu is an app that lets users practice clinical work in a safe virtual environment. Users diagnose simulated patients using a full scale of diagnostic methods.
ReadSpeaker is a text to speech tool that can be integrated into Moodle. It includes reading, writing, and studying tools designed to help struggling readers and language students become confident, autonomous learners.
Authess is an assessment tool that uses machine learning to measure whether someone can apply their knowledge to solve real-life issues in the workplace. It measures those tough to measure critical thinking skills that we want all our students to have.
